What is WARN? Why should I join?

New viruses and spyware hit the Internet every day. The Webroot Automated Threat Research Network (WARN) helps us to detect threats as they emerge - so we can provide faster protection to customers like you.

By opting in, you help us to deliver faster protection against new threats and make the Internet safer for all of our customers.

Here's how it works:

1. Opt into the program when you install the Webroot software.
2. As you browse the Internet, Webroot detects and records any new and emerging threats that are found.
3. The WARN system automatically sends the data back to our threat research team. All information is submitted anonymously to ensure your privacy.
4. Our threat research teams leverage this data to create new definitions and update protection for all of our customers. It also helps us to better understand the trends of new and emerging malware that real users encounter in the wild.

The entire process is all automated – so you don't have to do a thing except opt in.
